Single Room Occupancy (SRO) programs are specifically designed to offer stable housing in a service-enriched, recovery-oriented setting for adults with serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI). The programs are licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health and have welcoming residential atmospheres, inviting common areas, and outdoor courtyards for increased socialization opportunities. Fully-furnished individual rooms each have a single bed, microwave, refrigerator and a color TV with cable.
Individuals in the program receive room and board and services including nutritious meals, 24-hour staffing, case management, crisis intervention, medication management, and linkages to medical and dental care and health education services, among others. This level of care is offered in Monroe and Erie counties.
