Residential Habilitation
At Home Residential Habilitation Services, or Res Hab, are residential services provided to children or adults who do not reside in a residence that is certified by the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities.
The Res Hab worker provides individualized services to assist with valued outcomes. These can include:
- Personal Hygiene
- Cooking
- Cleaning
- Transportation
- Budgeting
- Shopping
- Social Skills
Providing these services within the home makes for a secure and familiar environment for the consumer, making generalization a more natural occurrence. This is particularly helpful for those with autism or dual diagnoses. The Res-Hab worker typically meets with the consumer two or three days per week to work on skill development or retention so that the individual can live more successfully in their home and their community.
