DePaul Developmental Services
All people have the right to be fully participating members of their communities. DePaul program professionals assist individuals with developmental disabilities to obtain the services they need to realize and reach their own unique potentials and maintain an independent lifestyle.

DePaul Developmental Services specializes in serving individuals within the autistic spectrum and those with a developmental disability and a co-occurring mental illness, as well as people with mental retardation, spina bifida, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and neurological impairments.

Service Coordination
Service coordinators specialize in helping families navigate the overwhelming system surrounding children with disabilities to ensure they receive needed services from their school and community. Service coordinators make a mandatory monthly visit to the person's home, school, or day program.

Advocacy & Training
DePaul provides training opportunities to educate local school districts and provider agencies on the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities. Service coordinators are encouraged to act as advocates and accompany families to Committee on Special Education (CSE/CPSE) meetings held within their school district.

Respite Services
In-home respite services provide families with a reprieve from their day-to-day duties. An after-school respite program is also available.

Residential Habilitation
Services are provided within the person's current living environment to both children and adults. These services promote independent living skills including:

  • Budgeting
  • Household management
  • Comparison shopping
  • Meal planning and preparation

Day Habilitation
In-home respite services provide families with a reprieve from their day-to-day duties.

  • Development of social skills
  • Identification and exploration of vocational interests
  • Community integration

Individual Support Services
Household subsidies are obtained through the Finger Lakes Developmental Disabilities Services Office.


Residential Services

Individual Residentail Alternatives provide comprehensive programming with staff support and are supervised based on the person's individual strengths and abilities. Programs are certified through the New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. Person Centered Planning creates highly individualized services which are based on Valued Outcomes, are habilitative, and incorporate community inclusion. Staffing is available up to 24 hours a day based on the person's pre-approved staffing needs.
