DePaul's T-Shirt Factory is an affirmative business that employs individuals with a mental health diagnosis who reside in Monroe County. The textile silk screening and embroidery shop produces items such as T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, tote bags, etc. DePaul's T-Shirt Factory offers mental health consumers an opportunity to learn the job skills they need to enter a competitive employment market while earning above minimum wage in a community-based business.

WorkGuide offers a wide range of services to assist the consumer (ages 18 and older) in obtaining long-term employment in their chosen field. Programs are offered in English and Spanish and are offered to Monroe and Livingston county residents who qualify for Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID) services.

DePaul WorkGuide contracts with local school districts in developing and implementing programs that provide community-based work experiences for students with disabilities as they prepare to exit high school.
WorkGuide places students in part-time employment within the community and provides the following services:
- A vocational assessment to determine the student's interests and skill level and identify placement sites to pursue for their summer work experiences
- Resume and cover letter preparation
- Assistance with completing applications
- Interview skills
- Job development
- Placement in a work experience (paid employment)
- Assistance with completing the required new hire paperwork
- On-site training/job coaching as needed
- Follow up services and advocacy throughout the work experience
- Ongoing communication with school personnel as needed
The goal is to assist the consumer (ages 18 and older) in obtaining interesting and rewarding long-term employment.
Services are offered to Monroe and Livingston county residents who are Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID)-qualified consumers. WorkGuide offers this program in partnership with the New York State Office of VESID.
There is no fee to participate in the programs. Social Security Disability, Social Security Income or Department of Social Services benefits are not affected if one enrolls in the WorkGuide employment programs. Programs are offered in English and Spanish.
This program is designed to provide work experience through unpaid internships prior to seeking paid employment. After successful completion of this internship, assistance in obtaining paid employment is offered.
Services include:
- Vocational groups that help consumers manage everyday challenges in the work environment
- Resume preparation
- Interviewing skills
- Career coaching and development
- Supervised volunteer placement
- Job development and placement
- Assistance with maintaining employment
- Follow-up services
The Supported Employment program assists consumers with disabilities in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment.
Services include:
- Career coaching and development
- Comprehensive vocational assessment
- Resume preparation and interviewing skills
- Job development and placement
- Job coaching
- Long-term follow-along services
- Education regarding maintaining social security benefits
