May 23, 2019 (Canandaigua, NY) ─ Residents from Horizons, a DePaul Senior Living Community in Canandaigua, recently took a break from April showers to check out May flowers at Spring Valley Gardens Nursery and Garden Center!

The vibrant colors, earthy aromas, temperate climate and soothing sounds of wind chimes provided delights for all the senses.

“We touched the flowers and enjoyed the textures – from velvety petals to surprisingly thick leaves,” said Activities Director Sarah Mason.

After a walk through the greenhouse, Horizons residents enjoyed respite and comradery on a bench amidst the flowers.

“We talked about whether or not we had green thumbs and what types of flowers we have grown in the past,” said Mason. “It was a lovely atmosphere and we all left with smiles.”
