Celebrating a Centenarian at Wexford House

May 12, 2021 (Denver, NC) ─ A rolling stone gathers no moss! Eleanor Jane Robinson Johnson has lived in over 20 states over the past 100 years! The centenarian recently celebrated her milestone birthday at Wexford House, a DePaul Senior Living Community in Denver.

Eleanor Johnson

Eleanor was raised on a farm in Western Pennsylvania with four brothers. Her father served in three wars and was a full colonel in the Inspector General’s office. Eleanor worked on many of the bases that her family was stationed to, living in over 17 states by the time she graduated from Lauderdale High School in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Eleanor moved to Texas for a job at the age of 31 where she met her husband Gilbert Scott Johnson. They married in 1953 and had three children. They moved to Alabama for a decade or so, and ended up in Franklin, NC where Gil died at the age of 80. She moved once again to North Carolina to Southern Pines where she resided until just a couple of months ago before moving to Wexford House.
