Celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month

In October, DePaul’s WorkGuide program and the Rochester Area Employment Network (RAEN) celebrated National Disability Employment Awareness Month! The annual Business Recognition Event honors the work of regional and local partners that make the connection between businesses seeking qualified workers and workers who have disabilities.

In 2022, WorkGuide nominated three businesses that value and emphasize diversity in their recruitment practices:

  • Bay View Family YMCA (Regional winner, nominated by WorkGuide Vocational Counselor Erika Lofton)
  • Turner Bellows Inc. (Regional winner, nominated by WorkGuide Program Coordinator Rebecca Haberbusch)
  • Restaurant Depot (Local winner, nominated by WorkGuide Assistant Director Darcy Smythe)

In addition, DePaul’s WorkGuide program clients and staff celebrated the immense difference made by the program!
