Healing With Hobbies at Wheatfield Commons

April 19, 2021 (North Tonawanda, NY) ─ In an effort to pass the time and cope during the pandemic, many have rediscovered hobbies or found new creative outlets and artful expressions over the past year. At Wheatfield Commons, a DePaul Senior Living Community in North Tonawanda, resident Betty Miller has discovered a love of coloring.

Over the course of the past year, Betty has colored over 50 pictures and counting. Her work is on display next to the nursing station where residents and staff often stop to admire her work. Betty chooses new work for the display regularly based on the season or upcoming holidays.

Working with Crayola pencils and loves neon, pastel, glitter and bold colors, her motivation is to bring others happiness and joy!

“It helps to pass the time,” she said. “I love to see people stop by my art gallery wall and smile.”
