‘Oh, the Places You’ll Go!’ (Wheatfield Commons)

August 18, 2022 (North Tonawanda, NY) ─ Whether it’s hitting the town or enjoying homegrown fun, the opportunities for staying active and engaged are plentiful at Wheatfield Commons, a DePaul Senior Living Community in North Tonawanda.

A collage of five photos: a mannequin in old-fashioned clothes by a waterwheel, an elderly woman in a red sweater, a woman sitting outdoors, a man at a table with food, and an elderly man in a hat by a river.

Pictured clockwise above are residents Betty Duane at the Niagara Wax Museum in Niagara Falls; Ruth Helfinstine enjoys a sweet treat during a lunch outing to The Silo Restaurant in Lewiston; Wilbur Treichler enjoys sightseeing at Three Sisters Island in Niagara Falls, and Doug Godwin gets ready to savor the flavors of summer with hot dogs and milkshakes at Sullivan’s Hot Dogs and Ice Cream.

Two elderly women display colorful tie-dye artwork; one stands outside holding a decorated fabric, while the other, wearing a mask, sits at a table indoors with painting supplies.

There’s plenty of activities to choose from right at home as well. Pictured above, Christine Pruetz shows off the results of a community-wide tie-dye craft and Patricia Bartlett participates in a painting night with Splash on Canvas, sponsored by Mike Shady and the Lelonek Agency, Inc.
