Do-It-Yourself Sunshine at Wheatfield Commons

February 2, 2023 (North Tonawanda, NY) ─ The weather forecast may call for clouds and gray skies, but it’s always sunny at Wheatfield Commons, a DePaul Senior Living Community in North Tonawanda.

Winter has been a great time to get crafty! Pictured top left, Betty Duane shows off a snowman painting she made and pictured top right, Wheatfield Commons Receptionist Donna McInnis has been teaching several residents including Bill Treichler how to crochet.

Seniors have been getting out on the town and even taking a virtual trip across the continent thanks to virtual reality technology. Pictured bottom left, Gladys Guize enjoys a visit to Our Lady of Fatima Shrine to view an expansive Nativity display!

And pictured bottom right, Anna Watroba explored the sights and sounds of Palermo, Italy from the comfort of Wheatfield Commons using IN2L virtual reality technology! IN2L is a tool that combines expansive content and easy-to-use technology with the goal of enriching seniors’ lives. The technology was made possible thanks to a grant from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation to purchase engagement technology for DePaul Adult Care Communities, Inc. residents.
