Bean Bags and Barbecue at Trolley Station Apartments
October 10, 2025 − (Canandaigua, NY) ─ Competition and camaraderie were on display at the Trolley Station Apartments in Canandaigua during the fifth Annual Bean Bags and Barbecue competition last week. Following a cookout in the courtyard, first responders from across the area were paired up with residents of the Trolley Station Apartments for the beanbag toss competition.

Senator Pam Helming and Canandaigua Town Supervisor Jared Simpson stopped by to support participants which included members of the New York State Police, the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Canandaigua Fire Department and the Mental Health Association of Rochester. Special thanks to Wegmans, Canandaigua Quick Print, and Friends of Liz Wiatrowski for their generous donations for the event.

In addition, Senator Helming recognized Trolley Station Apartments Property Manager Melissa Dymond with a New York State Commendation Award for her quick-thinking and fast response to an emergency situation in which a resident required the Heimlich maneuver. Melissa’s decisive action helped ensure the resident’s safety. Melissa is pictured with Housing Specialist Elizabeth Wiatrowski, Maintenance Specialist Philip Durso, Vice President of DePaul Properties, Inc. Gillian Conde, Senator Helming and Canandaigua Town Supervisor Jared Simpson. We proudly commend Melissa for her heroic actions and commitment to our residents!
