Intergenerational Friendships (Westwood Commons)

December 20, 2017 (North Chili, NY) ─ Students at Roberts Wesleyan College brought holiday cheer during a recent visit to Westwood Commons, a DePaul Senior Living Community in North Chili. In Jesus’ Name, a student ministry which started at Roberts Wesleyan in 2007, has been visiting seniors at Westwood Commons for several years now. Most recently, they came to count their blessings and share small gifts with residents in honor of Thanksgiving.

In Jesus’ Name celebrated National Pi Day with Westwood Commons last March by bringing half a dozen pies and playing games after eating together, and have also hosted a tea time with the residents.

“Our students have developed life-changing relationships with many of the visitors to Rochester Family Mission (RFM), and have decidedly been changed themselves because of this opportunity to serve,” said Roberts Wesleyan Tutor Coordinator/Administrative Assistant Lee Ann Dunn.
