Greetings from the Big Island (Woodridge)

September13, 2013 (Monroe, NC) ─ The only thing missing was palm trees. From the grass skirts, straw hats and flower leis to beach music and a Hawaiian-themed menu, Woodridge residents and family members enjoyed a summer Luau at the Monroe-based DePaul Senior Living Community on August 30.

Everyone was encouraged to dress in their best Luau clothes. Local entertainer Tony King provided the tunes.

Pictured here are Woodridge residents Dot Gardner, Richard Marquard and Wortha Jackson. Richard won first place in the Luau costume contest. Wortha took second place, and Dot was the second runner up. In addition, guests enjoyed sweet and sour meatballs, pineapple upside down cake, fruit kabobs and Hawaiian punch.
