The Magic of Music (Cambridge House)

September 11, 2014 (Hildebran, NC) ─ The gospel singers in the group John 3:16 have been helping the residents of Cambridge House, a DePaul Senior Living Community, discover the “Magic of Music” about twice a month for over five years now.

September 7-13 is National Assisted Living Week. This year’s theme is the “Magic of Music” recognizes the integral role and transformational effect that music has in assisted living residences every day. The gospel singers have been performing at senior centers in Hickory and Hildebran since 2007, sometimes seven to eight times a month.

“We just love what we do,” said Jean Hicks. “We won’t take money, as long as God provides us gas money and way to get there. We do it because we love it.”

“We go in hopes of being a blessing, but many times they bless us more than we could ever bless them,” said Jean Hicks.
