Comfort Companions a Joy For All (Wexford House)

July 27, 2017 (Denver, NC) ─ With soft grey fur, a friendly meow and an expressive purr, Wexxie, a Hasbro Joy For All Companion Pet, is bringing smiles to residents at Wexford House, a DePaul Senior Living Community in Denver.

“Wexxie” with Wexford House resident Captola Kidd

Pictured here with “Wexxie” is Wexford House resident Captola Kidd. With realistic fur, cat-like sounds, and sensors that respond to petting and hugs, the therapy tools are being welcomed with open arms, big smiles and lots of laughter.

“Wexxie is comforting to residents when they are anxious or in a bad mood,” said Activities Director Leslie Spinner. “You put the cat in their lap and they totally change their personality.”

Spinner said the Joy For All Companion has also helped new residents adapt!

“When we have a new resident you let her or him hold the cat and everyone gathers around them and they feel more at home,” she added.
