Salute to Area Veterans (Hickory Village Memory Care)

November 30, 2018 (Hickory, NC) ─ “You came back to us a hero, you are not quite the same,” read Hickory Village Activity Director Jessica White. “For you have learned to bear the weight of defending freedom’s call. But you did come back, and that is what we give thanks for most of all.”

Hickory Village Veterans Day

Veterans Day at Hickory Village Memory Care, a DePaul Senior Living Community, was an opportunity to celebrate and honor the sacrifices of those who have served our nation. Pictured above are residents Johnny Hill, Trueileen Scott and Lee Vanderberry with certificates of appreciation for their service.

Hickory Village celebrated its veterans with a tribute which included the National Anthem, staff members singing “My Country Tis of Thee,” and the pledge of allegiance and a presentation of plaques.

“It was absolutely beautiful,” said White. “There were a ton of thank yous and even a few tears shed by residents and staff.”
