Saluting Local Veterans (Glenwell)

November 30, 2018 (Cheektowaga, NY) ─ Veterans Day was filled with ceremony and celebration as Glenwell, a DePaul Senior Living Community in Cheektowaga, paid tribute to the six veterans in their community.

Pictured above is resident Chester Klosowski with Memory Care Activity Director Bonnie Tucker, along with resident Laura Ackerly. Veterans each received a certificate of appreciation, an American flag and a patriotic ribbon made by residents in Glenwell’s memory care unit.

“Glenwell realizes the significance of celebrating each and every veteran from every war,” said Activities Director Scott Wieser. “As they get older, each year fewer and fewer Vets from WWII will be around, so we honor them as if it could be their last Veterans Day.”

Pictured above, Glenwell veteran Michael Kosinski proudly displays some patriotic artwork he made during an arts and crafts session, and Bonnie Tucker pins a ribbon on Arthur Abramowski.
