Making Holiday Memories (Dayspring of Wallace)

January 23, 2019 (Wallace, NC) ─ It was an unforgettable holiday season for residents at Dayspring of Wallace, a DePaul Senior Living Community in Wallace, thanks to the kindness and generosity of family and community members who donated everything from their time to their talents!

Pictured top left, resident Minnie Newkirk receives a present from Santa, played by Paul Byer, and pictured on right, resident William Whaley dances with Activities Director Lisa Rich to entertainer Tim Holland during Dayspring of Wallace’s holiday party! Staff, family and community members adopted residents’ wishes from an “angel tree” and the local Dollar Tree donated lotions, toothpaste, tissues, deodorant and shampoo for hygiene packages. Refreshments, live entertainment and conviviality made for a successful event!

The Thelma Dingus Bryant Library Crochet Club donated homemade blankets to residents at Dayspring of Wallace. The group meets once a month to crochet blankets and hats, which they’ve donated to the American Heart Association and Children’s Heart Association’s “Little Hats, Big Hearts” campaign. Other club members include Library Director Sharon Robson and community members Marianne Nicholson, Maria Garvin and Lisa Cottle.

Members of “In A Chord,” a local singing group, filled the hallways at Dayspring of Wallace with holiday songs!  “In A Chord” practices on Sunday afternoons at the Wallace Presbyterian Church and performs at area senior living communities and churches.
